What will you do?
- Assists in in selecting the appropriate inspection, measuring and test equipment (IM&TE) that is capable of the necessary accuracy and uncertainty required for the measurement.
- Identifies all IM&TE that can affect product quality and calibrates them at prescribed intervals, or prior to use, against certified equipment having a known valid relationship to internationally or nationally recognized standards.
- Creates calibration standards, instructions or procedures as required.
- Ensures that externally provided products and services for inspection, test, and calibration are from approved and accredited sources.
- Obtains, reviews, and maintains records of accreditation for providers of external products and services (i.e., external test/calibration labs).
- Creates and maintains calibration records including detail of equipment type, unique identification, location, calibration interval, check method and acceptance criteria.
- Performs calibration / trouble shooting on electronics, pneumatics and Hydraulic equipment which includes Load cell, LVDT, Conditioners and Torque cells.
- Leads or supports statistical studies (MSA) on each IM&TE identified in the control plan to assess suitability of measurement system.
- Determines calibration intervals and when appropriate, adjusts the intervals.
- Leads and/or participates in troubleshooting activities related to gauging, calibration, and measurement methods/techniques.
- Identifies the occurrence of any out-of-specification readings as received for calibration/verification and initiates an assessment of the risk of the intended use of the product caused by the out-of-specification condition.
- Reviews the effects of suspect equipment on previous calibrations and provides immediate report to QA Management if suspect product or material has been shipped.
- Ensures that the environmental conditions of the laboratory are suitable for the calibrations, inspections, measurements, and tests being carried out.
- Ensures that the handling, preservation, and storage of IM&TE is suitable to maintain its’ fitness for use.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly workplace.
- Identifies risks and opportunities that could enhance desirable effects (i.e., improvement) or prevent/reduce undesired effects.
What will you bring?
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive industry for calibration process
- Ability to perform calibration / trouble shooting on electronics, pneumatics and Hydraulic equipment which includes Load cell, LVDT, Conditioners and Torque cells.
- Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
