On May 26, 2018, Litens fielded a team of 20 riders in the Jack Ride 2018 charity event, held at the Caledon Ski Club. The Jack Ride is Canada’s ride for mental health. 1 in 5 young Canadians are affected by mental illness. But only 1 in 4 of those affected will get the help they need. Jack.org programs are designed to reach them all. They are working to reach the 5 in 5, with initiatives and programs designed with the input of young people at every step.
Our team collectively raised $35485, our largest single team effort ever made. This amount represented over 4% of the total funds raised, and Litens was second in the overall team standings. An excellent effort for our first year out. The event itself also had a record year, and we were very proud to be a part of this.
The ride offered 4 different courses of 25km, 50km, 100km and 125km (Big Jack). Majority of our team chose the 50km loop which included a punishing uphill climb at the finish. Everyone was tired but managed a smile at the end of the day. We will be back next year!BACK TO NEWS
