This past Saturday, May 25th, Litens fielded a team of 21 riders in the Jack Ride 2019 charity event, held at the Caledon Ski Club. The Jack Ride is Canada’s ride for youth mental health. Around 1 in 5 young Canadians are affected by mental illness, but only 25% of those affected will get the help they need. Jack.org programs are designed to reach all youth afflicted with mental illness. They are working to reach their goal of 5 out of 5 youths seeking the help they need, with initiatives and programs designed with the input of young people at every step.
Our team collectively raised $45,973, a new record amount for any Litens charity event, and close to 30% more than we raised last year in our inaugural event. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Jack Ride and the event itself also raised a record amount of $1.3 million.
Due to significant rainfall, the event was delayed in starting and most participants chose a shorter route than last year, but spirits were still high and everyone had a great time.
Thanks to the team and everyone at Litens that donated to Jack Ride. With $45,973 raised this year, we can certainly achieve $50,000 by 2020! Only more 51 weeks to go!
