Duties and Responsibilities

Litens is helping advance engine technology by inventing, designing, and manufacturing state of the art automotive components. As a result of continued success, we are growing our Application Engineering team and are looking for an engineer with strong engineering background, talent in component design and good customer interaction skills.
Application Engineers are tasked with developing/improving Litens product lines with features attractive for new engine applications that are being designed by leading global automakers. You will have responsibility for defining and validating the function, reliability, performance and manufacturability of next generation critical components.
You will be working on:
Engineering of Front End Accessory Drive Systems utilizing the latest advancements in virtual engineering to optimize our products for a specific customer application
Working with suppliers to produce the necessary components to the appropriate standard
Validating the solution with broad engineering skills, for example; digital simulation, 3D CAD engine layouts, stress analysis, bench testing and vehicle testing.
Utilizing resources in supporting fields such as noise and vibration, materials science, testing, FEA/CAE, manufacturing, sales and others.
We are looking for education and experience in mechanical engineering, problem solving and analytical ability, and the willingness to work hard and mostly independently with minimal guidance.
In particular we are looking for the following qualifications:
Degree in mechanical engineering recognized by the PEO.
Minimum 3 years experience in automotive component design and development or similar field.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Proficient application of principles and methods commonly employed in the engineering discipline.
Strong problem solving skills and experience (8D, 5 Why, DOE, etc.)
DVP&R and DFMEA – strong emphasis on DFMEA
Experience with reading, producing and checking engineering models and drawings
Good knowledge of vehicle powertrain technologies.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining/injection molding/stamping/die cast/assembly).
Knowledge of statistical principles.
You will interact directly or through our overseas locations with our Asian or North American customers and may travel occasionally to our customer’s Engineering Centres. You will lead technical reviews with customers and are an excellent communicator verbally and in writing.
We currently have two positions open, one for North American and one for Asian customers. Fluency in Japanese and/or Korean would be an asset for the Asian focused position.
