RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize EPLAN to design electrical schematics, interface to machine designs.
Follow the Canadian or European Electrical Code to create electrical drawings.
Ensure safety as top priority in design and implementation of control systems
ensuring completeness and functionality of safety systems prior to releasing equipment to
production.
Work with and direct electricians on the assembly of projects through to and including
commissioning of the Machine.
Prepare documentation for project related drawing updates, bill of materials and spare part
recommendation.
Manage the electrical design, panel and field wiring of capital equipment or tooling.
Co-ordinate ESA Approval and PSHSR.
Prepare electrical schematics and design specifications for material procurement, working
with vendors to introduce new technologies.
Install electrical wiring as required in accordance with the Electrical Code.
Organize and maintain the Electrical area including inventory.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree / diploma in electrical engineering / licensed electrical.
Five years automation design experience.
Ability to work independently under pressure without supervision, handle multiple projects
with conflicting priorities.
Good working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and European Electrical Code (CE).
Mitsubishi, PLC and Fanuc robot experience an asset.
Sound understanding of Pre-Start Health and Safety.
