Engineering Technician – Validation

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Sample change and setup verification as per test requirement.
Set and adjust lab equipment controls, setup and operate data acquisition systems.
Monitor testing in progress, collect data and report results using precision measuring devices.
Assist with providing training to other technicians on test procedures and equipment.
Assist with activities to standardize procedures and write work instructions.
Prepare, fabricate, and modify fixtures/prototype.
Support with failure analysis of test equipment.
Build, troubleshoot, and repair hardware within test lab equipment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Most work is performed in test lab setting.
Ability to lift prototype or vehicle part and equipment up to a maximum of 45 lbs.
This position requires extensive verbal and written communication with others internally to the company.
Education and Experience:
Desired qualifications: Associate Degree in related field (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, B-Tech…)
A minimum of 2 years general automotive/testing lab experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic understanding of the automotive FEAD (Front End Accessory Drive) system.
Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines effectively and professionally.
Result driven and detail oriented.
Skill in using various types of mechanical equipment and devices that is typical in part modification and/or fabrication.
Experience with IMC, Rotec and/or Lab View software is an asset.
Knowledge of how to use sensors, data acquisition software, vehicle test and data interpretation is an asset.
Knowledge of electronics, instrumentation and vehicle dynamics is an asset.
Skill in communicating with others in different departments other people outside the organization.
Ability to use MS Office products, Email, Internet, Voicemail, and other miscellaneous electronic devices and software products.
