Global Director, Project Management


SUMMARY

The Director, Global Project Management is responsible for the implementation of policies, system monitors and controls to ensure the successful management and reporting of all projects globally. It is additionally responsible for supervising and leading the project staff to oversee the entire portfolio of projects and to ensure initiatives meet the goals and objectives of the executive leadership team. This position is personally responsible to oversee the full project management life cycle of highly complex, global, large-scale, strategic projects.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Implementation and revision of global policies for project management according to senior management expectations.

Working in collaboration with business system group to continuously develop system monitors and controls to ensure the successful management and reporting of all projects globally.

Defining and subsequently achieving the KPIs determining “flawless launch” through global project management teams.

Working in collaboration with global finance teams to determine appropriated budgeting process and systems for projects.

Managing the portfolio of projects, including regular reports of their status to senior management.

Defining project risk system and further providing both verbal and written communications regarding project status, risks and issues, with proper level escalation.

Ensuring proper project management methodology training for the global teams.

Leading full project management life cycle of highly complex, global, large-scale, strategic projects.

Securing proper collaboration between project teams and sales during acquisition projects.

Securing proper achievement of production teams’ expectations during project launch.

Systematically promotes interdepartmental communication to avoid siloed project teams.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Engineering).

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in project management in manufacturing industry, preferably automotive.

Minimum 4 years of experience working as a project manager in a strong base matrix organization.

Demonstrated leadership skills (motivating, directing, delegating, team building)

Strong planning and organization skills.

Strong interpersonal skills (communication, conflict resolution, executive talking, asking questions).

Ability to deal with ambiguity, in a matrix organization, fast pace, global environment.
