Production Team Leader


Primary support for Production Assemblers.  Routine daily checks of error proofing devices for proper functionality; communicates production rate targets and monitors WorkCentre performance.  Manages job changes at WorkCentre and directs production assemblers on which production equipment to run.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform Leader Standard Work
  • Ensure Production Operators produce quality components while meeting Standard Rate
    • Monitor reject components to ensure within acceptable limits as per control plan and ensure proper disposition
    • Escalate quality concerns to Quality Assurance department and Group Leader
    • Respond to Work Centre alert lights and alarms promptly and determine appropriate action required to resolve the condition
    • Coach operators to handle machine and line issues themselves where possible and when to escalate
    • Train production employees in all areas of work
  • Confirm operators are trained on work-station tasks as per Process Standards
  • Work daily with Production Scheduler, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and team members where appropriate to effectively place people in order to meet production demands
  • Manage Work Centre changeover process

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a team lead position in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable operating a PC and related technology
  • Able to fulfill physical requirements as required
    • Repetitive lifting of components between one to five pounds and boxes up to 30 pounds
    • Walking or standing up to 8 hours
  • May be required to work different shifts
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with others in English
