Responsible for preparation of parts of monthly financial analysis of Canadian and foreign operations.
Active in month end close processes of Canadian location and assist with some of the foreign operations’ closing.
Assist in consolidation of international results with supporting analysis and reports.
Responsible for review of global trade receivables and related policies.
Work with VP Finance to manage Canadian and global foreign exchange exposure .
Support Logistics and Material Control group in local and global analysis of costs and other issues.
Part of team performing an ERP implementation both locally with foreign operations.
Work with Business Systems Group on other projects to analyze issues, communicate with departments involved in projects and help to develop and validate required changes in processes and policies. Work on projects involving testing of software used in budgets, engineering, etc.
Work with Canadian location’s controller on development of policies and practices and special projects.
Coordinate with Department Managers to summarize items needed to be reviewed in the monthly Operations Review.
Assists with all corporate or outside audits related to financial information or information systems.
Perform or assist in internal audits at local and international operations.
Help in development of accounting and control policies.
Assist in review and approval of capital and tooling expenditures.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and assist in development of new controls as appropriate, both domestic and internationally.
Support preparation of various Canadian tax filings.
Strong knowledge of ASPE, US GAAP and IFRS.
Must have Accounting designation – CA / CPA or CMA.
Minimum of 3 years accounting work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of internal control systems.
Experience with product costing.
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, including pivot table analysis.
Experience with Hyperion Enterprise would be an asset.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to organize and to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
Comfortable in ambiguous situations and with confrontation.
Ability to work flexible hours (as overtime may be required).
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Experience with systems implementation and support would be an asset.
Knowledgeable of ERP/MRP principles and systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics or Navision.
Knowledgeable of project management principles.
Advanced business writing skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally if required.
Ability to speak more than one language would be a significant asset.
Experience in the automotive industry would be a significant asset.
