Systems Security Engineer – 1 year contract


Implementation and Maintenance of corporate network infrastructure:

  • Configure, install and manage various network Layer 2/3 devices and services
    • (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maint. & system upgrades service packs, patches, hot fixes & security configurations
  • Work within established configuration and change management processes to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Ensure availability of network infrastructure per established SLA’s to ensure systems availability & reliability
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Maintain and administer perimeter security systems (i.e. firewalls and intrusion detection systems)
  • Create alerts that notify appropriate personnel on threats
  • Sign-off changes to the network and deployment of software to ensure protection

Security policy development and execution:

  • Manage the development and implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines
  • Enable controlled access to corporate security zones as required
  • Perform analysis of network security needs
  • Oversee, deploy and review Data Loss Prevention tools and end point security components
  • Assist in technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability tests
  • Develop tech. solutions & new security tools to mitigate security vulnerabilities & automate repeatable tasks
  • Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
  • Write comprehensive reports, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancements
  • Assist with penetration testing to determine vulnerabilities and mitigate them

Troubleshooting and corrective action:

  • Configure & troubleshoot security infrastructure devices; Work with vendors to facilitate corrective actions
  • Analyze, monitor, troubleshoot and correct network problems remotely and on-site.

Research and Development:Contribute to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.

  • Conduct research to identify new attack vectors against company’s product & services and corporate assets.
  • Keep current with changing cyber threats and malware risks.


The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Computer Science degree or diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of hands-on network engineering experience
  • 4 years of exp. installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows environments
  • Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication processes and services
  • Understanding of Cloud Security strategies, risks and challenges.
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, advanced threat protection, authentication systems, log management, content filtering.
  • Preferred candidates will possess experience with Fortinet and Cisco hardware and software.
  • with network security and networking technologies, security, and network monitoring tools
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Flexible to support 24/7 operations
  • Experience and expertise with ethical hacking, firewall and intrusion detection/protection technologies
  • Flexible to some international travel (valid passport)
