Team Litens at Jack Ride 2023
On May 27, 2023, Litens fielded a team of 16 participants in the Jack Ride 2023, which was held live for the second time, following two virtual rides. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and excitement of the live ride, not to mention the perfect weather. In addition to the standard routes on pavement, the Jack Ride introduced the option of a 40km gravel road route, which several of our more adventurous riders attempted.
The Jack Ride is Canada’s ride for youth mental health. It is organized by Jack.org whose mission is; To make sure all young people have access to the mental health support they deserve. Young people are struggling right now with social isolation, anxiety, and uncertainty. The demand for Jack.org services is higher than ever, and each dollar raised helps to ensure that Jack.org’s mental health education and resources remain viable and pertinent in the wake of COVID-19. The Jack Ride is Jack.org’s largest fundraising event, and Litens is proud to be a part of it for a sixth year in a row.
Since Litens’ first Jack Ride in 2018, we have raised close to $300,000 for Jack.org. An amazing effort Team Litens!
This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Jack Ride, and the organizers targeted an overall fund raising goal of $1,500,000. The generosity of Canadians and the fundraising work completed by all participants exceeded that goal by close to 5%, with a total of $1,555,000 raised. This represents one of the highest totals in 13 years. Congratulations Jack.org!
