PLC Programmer and Technical Support Engineer

Ensures the smooth transfer of projects from process engineering perspective and assures PLC Programming needs for the production lines.

Job description

1. Responsible for new product launch & equipment commissioning for assigned commodities into Production
2. Responsible to improve and maintain all manufacturing processes within the organization following an engineering approach, having key performance indicators that align or exceed
Litens’ set standards.
2. Develop and update process documentation (layouts, flow, PFMEA, PVP etc.) for new and modified processes
3. Monitor results and KPIs, perform studies and analysis of implementations to ensure process consistency
4. Develop and integrate PLC programs to control automation equipment including Pre-Start Health & Safety regulations and motion control standards
5. Works with capacity plans in support of quoting and customer requirements for new jobs / business
6. Maintain action lists to resolve open issues
7. Participate when required with Machine/Process Design Review meetings
8. Participate in group corrective action meetings to resolve customer complaints and other process issues
9. Update process documentation (layouts, flow, PFMEA, Process Standards, PVP etc.)
10. Responsible for initiating Process Change including, documentation updates, validation studies and programming changes
11. Coordinates with other Manufacturing Engineering personnel in the development and implementation of new processes and technology in support of product innovation
12. Involved in capacity planning, process capability, and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

1. Engineering Degree or Diploma and minimum 3 years relevant manufacturing experience
2. Functional knowledge of design for manufacturing techniques and APQP process
3. Problem solving and analytical abilities
4. MS Office Suite Familiarity
5. Project Management Software experience
6. Understanding of GD&T, SPC and PFMEA
7. Knowledge of IEC-1131-3 PLC & Motion Control Programming
8. Able to create/modify function blocks, ladder logic, sequencers, structured text and
programs from scratch
9. Knowledge of basic machine design practices, sound electrical principles and basic statistics
as required for quality evaluations
10. Knowledge of Canadian / European Electrical Code
